The Villas Agrícolas Carnival organized by the Abriendo Camino Foundation will be held on Friday, March 1st. This year has a very significant character for a sector that has been disturbed by a violent explosion and that barely returns to regain a normal life.

Santo Domingo.- This time the carnival aims at the integration of the community around this great traditional party and aims to convey an ecological message and environmental protection.

The theme chosen on this occasion for the comparsas of children and adolescents that make up the programs of the educational institution are allusive to pollution of the seas and recycling.

For the making of costumes, recycled materials such as paper, cardboard and plastics were used. The comparsas will parade to the beat of the Big Band of the Foundation.

A great enthusiasm abounds in Villas Agrícolas waiting for an event that offers a moment of healthy recreation, both for parents and for children who develop since childhood a true passion for this activity of lights and brightness, of joys and rhythms, that allows them to leave the reality of their daily life.

The companies Smurfit Kappa, Fabrics of France and Corona have participated in the realization of this event, together with the volunteers of the 60 hours of CESCAR.

The Abriendo Camino Foundation has as mission to offer alternatives of protection and integral education so that children, young people and families of vulnerable urban sectors can develop their potential and enjoy a dignified life. For more than sixteen years she has been committed to the side of children and adolescents at risk.
