The Ninth Assembly of the Children’s Parliament of the Abriendo Camino Foundation took place on Saturday, February 16, in the presence of children, adolescents, parents and communities.

The parliamentarians had chosen as theme of the assembly, “The Neighborhood after the explosion” that shook Villas Agrícolas in the month of December.

Each group, including facilitators and community members, made proposals that were submitted to vote.

The proposal to “help the neighbors to rebuild their gardens as we did in our garden, due to the air pollution generated by the explosion”, Wilmer Mezquita, was a winner.

The second place in the proposal of Melani Noemi Amparo and Liz Abigail Alonzo: “remove the factory and put a park or something that works for children”. There were four proposals to remove the factory from Villas Agrícolas, with a total of 43 votes.

Three proposals about recycling and won 22 votes; seven with the environment, with a total of 68 votes

There were four proposals that dealt with the issue of security in the Foundation and in the neighborhood (protocols, simulations, training, etc.), with 31 votes.

The children and adolescents of the Abriendo Camino Foundation have had demonstrated once again their skills in the search for solidary solutions with a new vision among all the actors in the sector.
